About Us

If you are living with Huntington’s disease, at risk, or caring for a loved one who is living with the disease the Huntington's Disease Association of Ireland (HDAI) is here to help. We can support you to access the health and social services you need, provide information to you and your health professionals, and champion your rights. HDAI was established in 1985 by members of HD families who were aware of the need for information and support for people impacted by HD in Ireland. HDAI is a registered charity number CHY 10130, constituted under a Memorandum and Articles of Association. The company is registered with the Charities Regulatory Authority RCN 20025656. The Company's goals and objectives are guided by its charitable objectives, as laid out in the Memorandum and Articles of Association.

HDAI is a Registered Company No 290191 under Part 18 of the Companies Act 2014. The members of the Company are HD family members or those interested in the work of the Association who register as members on an annual basis. In the event of the Company being wound up, the liability in respect of the guarantee is limited to €1.00 per member of the Company.

HDAI is the only national organisation available to provide specific information, support and advocacy to people impacted by Huntington’s disease throughout Ireland. The Association informs and supports people living with HD, family caregivers, family members at risk, relatives and friends. In addition, HDAI provides information to health and social care professionals and others interested in HD.
