First Specialist HD Nurse Recruited

Huntington’s Disease Association of Ireland welcomes the news that a HD specialist nurse has been recruited for Beaumont Hospital. We will be sure to share news once this post commences. Specialist neurology nurses have a crucial role in the provision of quality care and access to appropriate multi-disciplinary services for people affected by Huntington’s disease.

Funding for a specialist nurse for  University Hospital Galway was also confirmed however recruitment has been delayed due to the current HSE embargo. See previous article

Minister for Disability Anne Rabbitte has confirmed her commitment to the recruitment of neurology nurses following her significant investment in specialist nursing posts in 2022. 

In an article published in the Irish Examiner on 04/01/2024, a spokesperson for Minister Rabbitte stated that she had engaged with the HSE and was keen to see the posts filled as soon as possible. See article  here
