HDAI's Family Support Officer is available to talk to and meet family members in crisis.

HDAI can provide information and financial assistance for counselling.

Regular support group meetings are held in Dublin, Cork, Limerick and Mayo/Roscommon.
Carers workshops are held in Dublin, Cork and Roscommon.

Young peoples activities are hosted by our Family Support Officer.

An annual information meeting and respite weekend is held in Co. Roscommon.

Publications including leaflets, booklets, and articles covering the many issues pertaining to HD are available on request including:

  • HDAI Understanding Behaviour
  • HDAI Caregivers Handbook
  • HDAI Physician’s Guide

Members receive quarterly newsletters and an annual magazine.
Respite grants are provided for families in need.

Loan of specialised equipment such as the Kirton HD Chair which enhances the quality of life of the person with HD.
HDAI meets with health care teams and give talks to interested personnel.

HD ID cards are provided to people with HD free of charge.
HDAI represents the views of HD families through International Huntington Association and European Huntington Association network.
HDAI represents views of HD families nationally through umbrella organisations
